Obituary for Tommy Brown
Funeral service for Tommy Gene Brown, age 77 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Quentin Long officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before service. Interment will follow the service at Peerless Cemetery with Morris Ray Wilks, Mikel Owens, Matthew Chenault, Charles Ball, Matthew Byrd, and Wesley Wilson serving as pallbearers. Mr. Brown passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Christus Mother Frances Hospital of Sulphur Springs.

Tommy Gene Brown was born on March 8, 1946, in Sulphur Springs, TX to Tommy Loyd and Emma Jean Asbill Brown. Tommy left school early to go to work to be able to help provide for his family. He carried that strong work ethic throughout his lifetime. He married the love of his life, Shirley Owens, on March 11, 1967, in Sulphur Springs. Tommy was skilled in many areas and could work on about anything. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley Brown; son, Tommy Charles Brown, and wife Tanya; daughter, Tammy Long, and husband Stewart; grandchildren, Quentin Long and wife Jessica, Cassie Chenault and husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Esabella Chenault, Ambriana Long, Christian Long; brother, Larry Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Loyd Brown, Emma Jean Brown; brothers, Gerald Brown, Earl Brown and Buddy Brown. Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
