Obituary for Bertie McCann

Funeral service for Bertie McCann, age 77, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Dustin Barrett officiating. Pallbearers will be Kenny Barrett, J.R. Reyes, Ed Robinson, Dustin Granger, Niko Sandoval, and Colton White. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Granger, Marshall Green, and the late Bobby Brantley Jr. Visitation will be held one hour before service. Interment will follow the service at North Hopkins Cemetery. Mrs. McCann passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances of Tyler.

Bertie McCann was born on October 8, 1946, in Oklahoma to Walter and Thelma (Rhoades) Higgins. She was married to Wayne McCann in Hugo, OK on August 10, 1967. Bertie was a Nurse -LVN in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mrs. McCann was a member of The Church Of Christ she was very faithful to her Lord and Savior as well as a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife, and sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Tena Granger and her husband Jesse of Yantis; Christina McCann of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Macie (Marshall) Green, Dustin Granger, Jacob Granger; great-grandchildren Emmett, Emersyn, Tristan, Trenton, Hudson Green, Madisen, Eli, Liam Brantley; sister Linda Kay Orsburn; niece Mellissa Reyes; nephew Kenny Barrett; special brother-in-law Kenneth Barrett.

Bertie was preceded by her husband Wayne McCann; grandson, Bobby Brantley Jr.; brothers Chester and Wesley Higgins.
