United Way Lead Donor/CEO Appreciation Luncheon 9/27/23

This weeks’ United Way Donor Lunch was held at The Venue at two nineteen on the square. Everyone enjoyed lunch catered by Corner Grub that was kindly sponsored by Alliance Bank!

Board President Emily Glass started the meeting off with prayer. She then named off all of the board of directors and thanked them. She acknowledged United Way’s lead donors: CHRISTUS Mother Frances, GSC Enterprise, Sulphur Springs ISD, Flowserve, City National Bank, Carol Vernon Paying It Forward Fund, Holt CAT, Alliance Bank, Jay Hodge Chevrolet, City of Sulphur Springs, UPS, Oncor, Sulta Manufacturing INC., Ocean Spray, and Hopkins County Hospital District EMS/Communications. Emily welcomed and introduced the 2023-2024 Campaign Co Chairs, Jessica McInnis and KK McKenzie. 

Jessica McInnis acknowledged the Budget & Allocation Committee. She stated “I am in a room full of generous people, generous businesses… it does not go unnoticed. You are leaders in this community.” KK Mckenzie introduced the Keynote speaker, Israel Lewis. Israel gave heartfelt speech and told his story about “holding the doorknob to death.” He stated many times that tomorrow is not promised, and we as a community need to realize that and be the change.

A special thanks and closing remarks were given by Jessica McInnis.
