Eckhardt to attend UT Southwestern
Mandy Eckhardt, a 2017 Sulphur Springs High School graduate and a 2021 graduate of Austin College, recently completed qualifying exams at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. She is pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Mandy’s thesis research combines genetics and neuroscience, aiming to identify and characterize genes important in brain development. Ultimately, she hopes her research will benefit individuals with severe neurodevelopment disorders. Mandy is the daughter of Julie Parker and the granddaughter of Dr. Robert Parker.
