Funeral service for Brenda Gail Maynard, age 80 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro J.P. Jobe, Pastor/Evangelist Larry Jordan and Pastor/Evangelist Malcom Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Rusty Woodson, Dusty Woodson, John Woodson, Zachary Blood, Matthew Woodson, Christian Woodson, Joseph Williams, John Philip Jobe will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Williams and Justin Maurer. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Maynard passed away on June 21, 2023 at her residence.

 

Brenda was born on July 28, 1942 in Cooper, Texas to S.M. and Juluia Mae (Acker) Schultz. She married Larry Maynard on December 14, 1981 in Clarksville, Texas. Brenda worked as a home health care provider and worked for Sulphur Springs ISD for 12 years. She served on many mission trips with Fruitful Harvest International Ministries. Brenda was a member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church family.

 

Brenda was a precious prayer warrior who encouraged untold numbers with every joyful “Praise God,” “Amen,” and “I love you,” that she uttered. Many have said that her hugs made them feel as if Jesus was wrapping them up in His arms. Her sweet countenance lit up any room she was in. She will be greatly missed, but her family is blessed to know that she is even now rejoicing in heaven and talking up a storm to those who have gone before her.

 

She is survived by her husband, Larry; sons, Wylie Don Woodson, John Woodson and Michael Woodson and wife, Mary Ann; daughters, Angie Wells, Pamela Ramos and Julie Jobe and husband, J.P.; twenty- seven grandchildren; forty- two great grandchildren; sisters, Myrtis Stephens and husband, Doyal, and Martha Jane Payton; brother, S.M. Schultz Jr. and wife, Debbie; sister-in-law, Donna Schultz.

 

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Deel; brother, Earl Schultz; son, Steve Woodson, daughter, Teresa Gail Woodson; and granddaughter, Bethany Elaine Jobe.
