Reflection of life. Curtis James Peoples, after a brief illness he finally received his ultimate and glorious healing. On Saturday, June 17, 2023, our Heavenly Father called him from labor to reward. By the bedside of Curtis was his loving daughters.

 

Curtis was born to the parentage of the late Clifton Leonard & Equilla Delores Dial Peoples, of Sulphur Springs, TX on June 13, 1945.

 

He was a graduate of Class 1964 of Douglas High School.

 

On December 28, 1966, he was united in holy matrimony with his Sweetheart Lola Mae Beard of Sulphur Springs, TX. To this union two loving daughters were born.

 

Curtis James Peoples was employed by Farmer’s Co-op, Rockwell International after company lay-off. Curtis worked for Sulphur Springs Independent School District where he retired after 28 years of service.

 

At an early age he accepted the Lord as his personal savior and became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed. He served on the Usher Staff, Deacon Staff and was also a member of Seasoned Saints.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers Florence Wayne (Bob) Peoples, Cleo Audrey Peoples, Harvie Ray Peoples.

 

Curtis leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memories, daughters Cecilia of Irving, TX, Lolitha of Sulphur Springs, TX., Two brothers Rev. Clifton Claude Peoples of Lubbock, TX, Rev. Leonard Peoples (Vivian) of Garland, TX, one sister Velma Jean Johnson (Robert) of Forney, TX. One sister-in-law Bathsheba Peoples of Las Vegas, NV., One brother-in-law Nathaniel Beard (Linda) of North Richland Hills, TX.,

 

Four grandchildren: Darrell and DaShawn Ford of Irving, TX, Danesha and D’Andre Peoples of Sulphur Springs, TX. One Great Granddaughter: Makenzi Peoples of Sulphur Springs, TX.

 

He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at St. Luke Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
