AT HOME WITH KAYLA PRICE 11/4: Thanksgiving
  • PublishedNovember 11, 2022

Next Comes Thanksgiving! We had a treat of a time with Halloween and next we get to stuff ourselves like turkeys! In all seriousness, the holiday season is getting real.  We just decided on what turkey to purchase for our Thanksgiving feast. That means our Christmas list needs to be made, and most items on it purchased.  Delaying the inevitable only causes stress.  And if a gift is sold out or doesn’t arrive in time, it can also lead to disappointment. The best plan of action is to take action now.  Buy any canned or frozen foods needed for Thanksgiving (and maybe even Christmas), make all gift selections, and go ahead and wrap them for later.  Having that all completed will allow for more enjoyment and peace during the holiday season. If you are stuck for gift ideas, check out last year’s gift guide from blogs and YouTube…things won’t have changed that much in a year.  If nothing else, it may provide inspiration for the perfect gift for someone or remind you of something they mentioned they would like.If company will be staying at your house, be sure any projects and repairs are completed soon so that they aren’t looming overhead.Homemade gifts are hopefully well underway if they require time to marinate or be made.  Otherwise, chutneys and pumpkin logs can wait till later in the season.Sometimes I feel like all the activities of the holidays make them go by much quicker than they should.  Who cares if we have a perfect gift if searching for it took time away from the people we love the most.  Being still would allow us more time to soak up the atmosphere of the season and enjoy our loved ones.  Cuddling up on the couch to drink hot chocolate and watch a movie with family is a gift in and of itself.  We should treasure the memories and moments more than anything else in the world. We are just about to start the race through the holiday season!  Feet don’t fail me now!
