Beauty Grace to host all female-owned pop-up shop

Beauty Grace has planned a ‘Spring Fling’ pop up shop to support local women entrepreneurs, according to owner operator Ana Velasco.

The event, which will take place April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 220 Connally St. will feature the following businesses:

  • Oh So Retro– Vintage wears and wares- clothing, art, knickknacks and more from the 1950s-1990s.
  • SUPEREGO– Colorful accessories and custom orders
  • J.L. McMinnis Originals– Handmade crystal and stone jewelry
  • Mariel Puch Bakery– Homemade cakes, snacks and desserts
  • La Doña Cocina– Mexican eats on wheels headquartered in Como, TX

Beauty Grace will also have new inventory to show.

“Supporting other women entrepreneurs means so much to me because I have the opportunity to help others who share the same passion as I do,” said Velasco.

Velasco noted that she believes in “community over competition.”

“Celebrating each other’s success is one of the most important thing we can do for one another,” she said.

Pop up shops will continue as a monthly installation at Beauty Grace. Visit the store Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. for more information.

About the shops:

Oh So Retro– Owner Amanda Tredway curates unique vintage pieces from the 1950s-1990s. “My goal is to provide a collection of timeless vintage and retro pieces that you can easily incorporate into your everyday wardrobe and home,” she said.

SUPEREGO- Sisters Maritza and Vanessa Velasco allow you to express yourself through colorful beadwork. “We’re passionate about helping others find themselves through a unique piece of jewelry,” they said.

J.L. McMinnis Originals- Owner/ artist Jessica McMinnis makes designs to impact the world, and contributes a portion of her sales to volunteers in Uganda. “These handmade pieces are made of Mother Nature’s gemstones and crafted with beauty in mind,” she said. “They will remind you of your intrinsic beauty and power.”

Mariel Puch Bakery- Peruvian mom of two Mariel Puch prepares all her sweet treats with love. “Imagine it and we’ll create it,” she said.

La Doña Cocina- Formerly known as Taquería Velasco, “La Doña” Bertha Velasco took her delicious food on the road by popular demand. Tacos and tortas will have your mouth watering.
