Funeral services for Ella Byrd Reirdon Brown, age 79, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at West Oaks Funeral Home chapel with Bradley Edge and Chris Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Chris Brown, James McMahan, Jake Morrill, Landon Burke, Steve Littlefield, and Kevin Brewer serving as pallbearers. Jett Morrill, Dorsey Reirdon, Joe Reirdon, Henry Woodruff, and Joe Taylor will serve as honorary pall bearers. Casey McMahan, Jacob Landers, and Phil “Buddy” Woodruff will serve as heavenly pallbearers. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Ella passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her residence with her family by her side after a three and half year battle with cancer. She was born on July 25, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Jack Joseph Reirdon and LoRene Madison Taliaferro Reirdon. Ella devoted her career to the education field serving both Sherman ISD and Sulphur Springs ISD as a teacher and a counselor until her retirement in 2000. She was of the Methodist faith. Ella was an avid genealogist, a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Retired Teachers Association. She loved spending her time with family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter Karen McMahan and husband James of Sulphur Springs; son Chris Brown and wife Lezley of Sulphur Springs; brothers Dorsey Reirdon and wife Beth of Kerrville, TX and Joe Reirdon and wife Judy of Durant, OK; grandchildren Krista Morrill, and husband Jake, Katey Brown, Talley Brown, and Jobey Brown all of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchildren Taylor Morrill and Jett Morrill of Sulphur Springs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Woodruff, and grandson Casey McMahan.
