Obituary For Linda Sue (Lacy) Bell

Graveside service for Linda Sue Bell, age 77, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Bro. C.J. Duffey officiating and Mike Phillips, Dustin Ballard, Neil Johnson, Tommy Hinton, Paul Lloyd, Dickie Scroggins serving as pallbearers. There will be no formal visitation.  Linda passed away January 5, 2022, at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs. She was born on May 13, 1944, in Hopkins County, Texas, the daughter of Alpha Gaines “A.G.” and Mary Ellen Lacy.  Right out of high school Linda started working at Sulphur Springs News Telegram and then went on to work for the Department of Health and Human Services for 30 years. After retirement, she worked as a realtor for Century 21 for 30 years and became a broker. Linda enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, working as a realtor, and enjoyed working with people.  She is survived by son, Brian Bell of Sulphur Springs, sister, Shirley Charles and husband Ronnie of Sulphur Springs, granddaughter, Kara Ballard and husband Dustin of Sulphur Springs, great-grandchildren, Dawson and Dylan Ballard of Sulphur Springs, and nieces, Shelley Burton of Sulphur Springs, Shara Roden of Sulphur Springs, and Shelbi Verratti of Longview. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 58 years, Frank R. Bell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
