Known as “Mom” to many, Patty Masingale was born Patricia Ellen Shannon on April 21, 1952 to Margaret King and Richard Shannon, and went to be with Jesus on December 29, 2020 from her home in Como, TX with family at her side. This ended a long, long battle with cancer which mom battled with strength, grace and a fierce sense of humor to the end. Mom loved Jesus, lived for her family, embraced her church as family, adored fur babies, and indulged in a love affair with cake, ice cream and hard shell ice cream topping. In her spare time she enjoyed just about anything she could do with her hands to express creativity.

Highly skilled with crochet hooks, pottery, paint, quilts, and jewelry, many people enjoyed her art and creations. Mom played multiple instruments and spent many years involved with her love of music including band, a barbershop quartet, the ChannelAire chorus and church choir. Mom’s professions were as eclectic as her interests including animal handler, medical billing, homeschool teaching, and church secretary.

Most of all, mom loved her family. She “finally” agreed to marry John Masingale (The Hugster) in 1982 and even followed him to Texas and away from the beach she loved in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Ellen King, father Richard John Shannon and husband Johnny Ralph Masingale.

Her legacy will live on in her son, daughter in love and granddaughter.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 9th at Community Bible Fellowship of Dike, TX at 11am.
