When God created you, He created you to be like Him. According to Genesis 1:27, He made you in His very image. This is not only true for you, but for mankind in general. As you’re well aware, you don’t have to do much looking around to realize that God’s favorite creations have come up severely lacking when it comes to resembling Him as of late. Sin and selfishness have taken the place of the love and empathy that Jesus desires mankind to walk in.

So what happens when the identity in the mirror doesn’t look like the image of your Maker? What do you do when self-reflection seems to reveal more issues than blessings? Here’s how life usually works… We have a problem, so we ask God for an answer. When this is the case, God gives us more than the immediate answer; He provides us with a promise. When God said it, it was done; but the obtaining promise comes through a process. The process takes time and seeing it come to fruition will require you moving closer to Him. On the other hand, simply receiving an answer requires very little effort on the part of the person asking. The process however, after being walked out, will result in you looking more like Him.

The goodness of God is in the process, not the promise, because a promise placed on a foundation that can’t sustain it is a curse. If He were to give you everything you asked for without first developing a Godly character with which you could properly steward it, the weight of those ‘blessings’ would crush you. When you find yourself in the process of obtaining His promises, understand that the process is continually transforming you into His image. This image is what the world you live in needs to see. You were designed to be the Jesus that those around so desperately need to see. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
