Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus gathered His disciples to Himself for what would be their final meeting on Earth, the words He spoke to them were not for them, but for others. Jesus wasn’t concerned about the Disciples salvation because He’d already taken care of that. Many people look at what is referred to as the Great Commission and think to themselves, “Man! It sure would’ve been cool to be there and watch Jesus go up on a cloud into Heaven.” For most believers, the moments that they seek to have with the Lord are purely self-centered. They want to talk to the Lord and look for Him to tell them all these cool things and answer all of their requests. This is not necessarily wrong but eventually Jesus expects you to get past just seeking Him for yourself and get down to His business. Take a look at your prayers, time in the Word, and worship. Are you seeking Him for yourself alone? Does anyone else other than those who you are having issues with come up in your conversations with Him? When was the last time you asked Him what was on His mind, or who He needed you to reach out to? You see, when you’re born-again, the conversation should shift from being primary about you and your wants and needs to being primarily about Him and His agenda for you and those He is seeking to reach. When you make it your priority to see that His business is tended to, He will tend to yours. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff
