Hebrews 1:3 (The Passion Translation)
3 The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.
The power of the Word of God is only released when it is spoken. This is how God sows, or plants it in your heart, He speaks it over you. Everything thing that exists has been been created by speaking. But not just speaking any random words, but by speaking what has been revealed in someone’s heart. When God created the universe the Bible says “…and God said…” It doesn’t say He just wished it or thought about it, no, He had to open His mouth and spoke. The same light that was created in the beginning is still shining today and it will continue until He speaks again telling it to stop. All of creation is held together by His spoken word. When you consider this truth, you will begin to understand the importance of the written Word in your life. You see, originally, the written Word was spoken by Him into the hearts of the writers. He was good and gracious enough to have it written down so that you could have something to speak as well. Are there areas of your life feel like they’re not holding together very well? If you’ll take the time to seek Him and His Word, those Words will begin to hold your world together as well.
