Hopkins County, Texas Emergency Management shared this Texas Fire Potential Update for July 23rd Through July 29th
• Last week’s accelerated drying under 105-110 degree temperatures has produced a significant area of critically dry fuel dryness (orange) with localized areas of extremely critical fuel dryness (red).
• High risk brush and timber fuel types in these critically dry areas will support fires that are highly resistant to control.
• Forecasts for the coming week include slight chances for localized thunderstorm activity and a slight drop in afternoon high temperatures…..
Not enough improvement to stop the expansion of critical fuel dryness.
