Cumby Football Player RJ Valentine Commits to Play Football at Hardin Simmons University

RJ Valentine is committing to play Football at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene.  RJ was recently voted Cumby Athlete of the Year.  RJ has lettered in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Track.  RJ was an integral part of the success Cumby has had in the last few years.  He was all district Wide Receiver 2 years in a row before taking the reins of the offense this year at Quarterback.  RJ was All Area and was MVP of the first playoff win in school history (Hubbard).

RJ Valentine is the poster child of what Cumby Athletics is all about.  As a freshman RJ was shy, timid, and had low self-confidence.  As a senior RJ Valentine is a hard worker, a leader, a mentor, and exhibits maximum effort in everything he does. We as a coaching staff are very proud of RJ Valentine and are so excited that he gets the great opportunity to continue to play the sport he loves, and at the same time he is going to do a great job of representing his family, Cumby, and Cumby Athletics.
