John 2:11
- This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.
Reading the theme verse, John 2: 1-11, verse 11 states the disciples believed in him. There are times as believers, we lose focus of who Jesus is until there is a miracle in our lives. So, what signs do we miss in our walk. Imagine driving down the road and there is a sign that says, “bumps ahead, slow down”. Imagine the damage that can happen to your vehicle if you missed that sign. Or even worse, we see the sign and IGNORE it completely. When the bumps hit, does it make the sign right? No, the sign was right before we hit the bumps! Jesus is saying, don’t miss the sign, don’t wait for the miracle to happen, don’t wait for a rescue in your time of need and don’t wait until Jesus is your last resort. In John 7, Jesus said, believe in me as the scriptures has said and out of your belly will flow rivers of living water. What He was saying is we need to be filled daily with His Spirit to help us see the signs. We don’t ever want to be caught saying “what sign”. He wants to have communion (come union) with you daily. I want to encourage you to connect with Him and not the benefits of having Him.
