Every two years Texas Democrats hold a state Democratic Party Convention. At this convention, we elect a State Party Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer for four year terms. We elect a man and a woman from each senate district to serve on the State Democratic Executive Committee. We write a party platform, update rules, and pass resolutions on various topics of public policy or party affairs. Additionally, there are general session speeches by our elected officials, candidates, and national figures.
The first step to becoming a state delegate is attending your county convention, coming up on Saturday, March 24.
Join the Hopkins County Democratic Party for the Hopkins County Convention on March 24, 2018 at 10:00 am. They will meet at the Hopkins County Courthouse, 118 Church St, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482. Please email your Convention Chair Tommy Long at tlong@circlecc.com if you have any questions.
