Acts 28:3,5
3 When Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and put them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat and fastened on his hand. 5 He, however, shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.

One of the biggest reasons that people fear snakes is that they always seem to catch you off guard. You never seem to be able see them from a distance. You’re just walking along, minding your own business, and then out of nowhere there’s one right in front of you. You can probably remember a time when life has done you the same way. You’re just doing your thing for the Lord, maybe everything up to that point was fine, or maybe it wasn’t going so good, but suddenly out of nowhere, you’ve been bitten. Let’s look at Paul’s experience for a moment. He was working on a fire after being shipwrecked. A journey He was on because He had been imprisoned for preaching the Gospel. After all of that, he gets tagged by a snake. The unexpected is usually what’s seems to effect people the most. Like Paul, you may be doing all you can to keep your fire burning. The enemy knows this and he doesn’t play fair. As you seek to allow your fire to burn it’s going to stir up some things but all you have know is that your God is greater than anything that enemy may have in store. Like Paul, you must learn to shake things off and not allow things like bitterness, unforgiveness, hopelessness, or frustration to envenomate you. Keep on doing what the Lord has put in front of you and He will take care of the rest. There are greater things ahead and He will see to it that you experience them. – Love and Blessings, Pastor Jeff

TWBC’s August Simple Saturday is right around the corner. We will be out in our communities being the hands and feet of Jesus. So make plans to be a part. Sign up at the GroupLife wall or find a member of our start team and they will assist you. You can also call the TWBC office for more information and get signed up over the phone. Let’s go out and show our neighbors the love of Christ.
