Obituary for Billy “Pat” Thompson
Billy Patrick “Pat” Thompson was born on March 17, 1950 in Sulphur Springs, TX to Fred J. and Helen C. (Gideon) Thompson. Pat graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1968 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from East Texas State University in 1972. Pat loved all sports and enjoyed playing golf and softball in his younger days.
Pat married Sonya Lynn Spence on April 29, 1986 in Sulphur Springs, TX. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. Together they were house parents for seventeen years at the South Texas Children’s Home.
Pat is survived by his wife, Sonya of Sulphur Springs, TX; son, Josh Thompson of Sulphur Springs, TX; daughter, Ashley and husband Cole Wright of Killeen, TX; grandchildren, Jackson and Claire Wright; brother, Garry Thompson of San Antonio, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A family led Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs, TX with Larry Jordan officiating.
