Obituary for Norma Newman

Graveside service for Norma Newman, age 90 of Yantis, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Yantis Cemetery with Bro. Byron George officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Newman passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at her residence.

Norma Jean Newman was born in Memphis, TN on May 15, 1933, to Herman Christopher Coulter and Lula May (Hooker) Coulter. She married Ernest Seab Newman in Mississippi on May 3, 1953. Norma’s

main and most important job was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church – Yantis and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Newman is survived by her sons, Ernest Seab Newman, Jr. and wife, Denise, of Yantis, Christopher Thomas Newman and wife, Karlette, of Sulphur Springs, Michael Allen Newman of Yantis; grandchildren, Shannon Downes and husband, Archie, Jonathan Newman and wife, Jenny, Jeffery Newman and wife, Kristen, Joseph Newman and fiancé, Stephanie, Zachary Newman and wife, Randa, Kayla Newman; great- grandchildren, Landon, Will, Carter, Everett; niece Cindy Jenkins; and adopted nephews, Matthew Sharp and Johnny Harrington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. The online register can be signed at www.murrayorwosky.com
