Lady Eagles Look To Extend Win Streak To 7 Games
The Como-Pickton Lady Eagles have been on a tear for the last month, currently riding a six-game winning streak and looking to keep it going against the Cumby Lady Trojans tonight. Improving their record to 21-10, including 3-0 in district play, the Lady Eagles hope to keep their strong play going.
The month of September was kind to Como-Pickton, going 8-3 and winning seven of their final eight games in the month. The Lady Eagles won 24 sets and dropped just half as many, losing only 12 sets in that same time span.
During their hot streak Como-Pickton has picked up wins against Detroit, Hawkins, Avery, Miller Grove, Rivercrest, Fruitvale, Alba-Golden and Boles, including straight-set wins in four of those. Their last loss was all the way back on Sept. 8 against Hughes Springs, and since then they have beaten their opponents by a combined score of 18-5.
Tonight, Como-Pickton will get to put their undefeated district record on the line at home against Cumby, before hitting the road to face a 23-7, and also undefeated in district play, North Hopkins Lady Panthers team later this week. North Hopkins is currently ranked No. 15 in the state in the Texas Girls Coaches Association State Volleyball Poll and will host Alba-Golden tonight.
