Funeral service for Dan Jenkins, age 69, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Jeremy Jenkins, Paul Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, and Jacob Mazoch serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Josh Jenkins and Michael Jenkins. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Jenkins passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville, Texas.

 

Dan was born January 1, 1954, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Roy Daniel “Billy” and Addie Inez (Driggers) Jenkins. After graduating high school Mr. Jenkins went on to work as a barber and owned his own business “Dan’s Haircutt’s” for over 40 years. Dan had a passion for horticulture and had a “green thumb” when it came to growing and caring for plants of all kinds. He also had a love for music and was an accomplished piano player. Dan proudly served as the church librarian at First Baptist Church for many years where he was also a devoted member.

 

Dan Jenkins is survived by his brothers, Manuel Jenkins and wife Angie, Dr. Ron Jenkins and wife Janet; nephews, Jeremy Jenkins and wife Jessica and their son, Alexander, Josh Jenkins, Jacob Mazoch and fiancé Taylor Greene, Paul Jenkins and wife Rebekah, and their children Jude and Clark, Chris Jenkins and wife Caitlin, and their son Wyatt, Michael Jenkins and his wife Jennifer; niece, Jala Jenkins.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Inez Jenkins.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
