Obituary for Wendell Johnson
Funeral service for Wendell Johnson, age 85 of Yantis, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Bryon George officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Mason Brothers from Yantis Lodge #382 serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Johnson passed away on July 27, 2023 at his residence.
Wendell was born on January 10, 1938 in Yantis, Texas to R.T. and Nellie Mae (Slatten) Johnson. He married Patricia Bussell who preceded him in death. Wendell later married Norma Ogle. He retired from L3 and also ran a dairy business in Yantis. Wendell was the third-generation member of the Yantis Masonic Lodge #382. He was a member of the League Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Long and Marla Demontigny and husband, Dane; son, Jay Johnson and wife, Rosemary; grandchildren, Cody Johnson (Kelsey Wight), Jason Long (Chelsea), Lauryn Badr (Ilyasse), Ryan Long, Austin Demontigny, Bobby Snyder (Ashley), Nicole Wilson (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Tilden, Jaycee Mae, Eliana, Aubrey, Colton, Liberty, Ryan, Cooper, Collyn, Andrew, Max, Blake, Beaux, Kaysin, Marleigh, Leah and Cannon.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; one brother and two sisters.
