Muddy Jake’s– still the same place you love, now with updated atmosphere

Muddy Jake’s– still the same place you love, now with updated atmosphere

A downtown institution since 2010, Muddy Jake’s Sports Bar and Grill has always been a casual favorite.

After a late-2022 remodel, however, they’re ready to welcome a measure of elegance.

Owner Scott Keys began the establishment thirteen years ago to complete his favorite activities: watching sports, drinking beer, and hanging out with his dogs. Keys isn’t ready to call it quits anytime soon.

“We’ve done some updating,” he said. “It’s like the dogs needed to grow up.”

With a new bar area, new interior finishes and updated logo, Muddy Jake’s has come a long way since it first served its patrons food in dog bowls all those years ago.

“When we first opened, we were more youthful. In the reincarnation we decided it was time to grow up a little bit,” he joked.

Not to worry– the dogs are still around, albeit only on the bar decal.

The menu hasn’t changed, which is of crucial importance to patrons who have loved the flea dip and wings for over a decade.

“We kept the menu and of course we’ll still keep the specials we add to it,” Keys emphasized. “It’s just the ambiance and the vibe that we decided to grow up a bit.”

The remodel marks Keys continued commitment to the longevity of the business downtown.

“We’ll be here,” he noted. “We’re not ready to go. We jumped back in and we’ll be here for quite a while.”

Muddy Jake’s is open from Sunday- Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday form 11 a.m. to midnight.
