Funeral service for Sylvia Louise McBrayer, age 88 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Beckham Baptist Church with Doctor, Jimmy Henry officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 6:00P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home located at 876 Wildcat Way.

Sylvia Louise McBrayer was born on November 26, 1934, to the late Mary Beth and Weldon Teague in Amarillo, Texas. She passed from this life on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Carriage House Manor and the Cottages. Sylvia was a member of Beckham Baptist Church. Sylvia was an avid reader and loved to sew. Sylvia married James Richard McBrayer on September 2, 1953, in Denver, Colorado. He preceded her in death in 2018.

She is survived by two sons, Weldon Craig McBrayer and Gordon Richard McBrayer. Grandchilden, Brett McBrayer, Brandon McBrayer, Renee Johnson, Traci Lynn Norman, April Hottinger, Brittany Austin, Nicole Hottinger, Crystal Sparks, James McBrayer and Emma Alcorn. Great Grandchildren, Mila McBrayer Mason McBrayer, Noah McBrayer, Robert Amacker, Tiffany Watson, Shane Ramirez Jr., Tori Ramirez, Amberly White, Hallie White, Hannah White, Brailey Sparks, Rylon Sparks, John Alcorn and Weston Alcorn; She is also survived by one sister, Beth Keilhample.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James McBrayer, daughter, Lori Austin and sister, Sue Skultey.

In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
