24A All-District Awards

The All-District Awards for District 24A were announced recently. Members of the Saltillo Lady Lions and Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears were featured all over the list, after having strong seasons both as teams and as individuals.
Superlative Awards
Sulphur Bluff senior Skylar Stanley finished as Tri-MVP of the district, along with a pair of players from Bloomburg. Stanley helped lead the Lady Bears to a record of 18-11, including an 8-2 district record.
A pair of Saltillo Lady Lions took home superlative awards as well, including junior Julianna Giles, who was named Offensive Player of the Year. Giles consistently one of the leading scorers for the Lady Lions, finishing in double-digits on a regular basis.

Sophomore Ryleigh Redar also took home a superlative, as she was named Newcomer of the Year. Redar also played a big role for Saltillo, helping them 21-16 and 7-3 in district play.
First Team All-District
Both Sulphur Bluff and Saltillo each had a pair of players who were named First Team All-District. Senior Bailey Neal and junior Kaitlyn Brock each represented Sulphur Bluff, while junior Allie Lane and sophomore Gabby Ross each made First Team for Saltillo.
Second Team All-District
Another pair of Lady Bears made the Second Team All-District list, including senior Tori Raine and sophomore Emma Neal. Junior Yadhira Alonso from Saltillo also made Second Team All-District.
