Area seniors and families will soon be receiving their registration forms for the 2021 Earl W. Martin 42 Tournament, according to Senior Activity Center director Karon Weatherman.

Weatherman says citizens shouldn’t be alarmed to notice the date is one week earlier than it was in previous years.

‘”A lot of people don’t like to miss the Hopkins County Stew Festival so I have moved it off of that date,” she noted.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, October 16 at 10:00 a.m. A lunch of  Hopkins County Stew and crackers will be available for $ 5.

The Senior Activity Center asks that participants register early so that name tags and scoreboards can be made ahead of time.

Those who may have an extra card table should contact 903-885-1661,  “In case we have more teams than I have tables,” she said.

Masks are not required but but they are highly recommended, staff noted.

For more information, see the informational flyer, visit the center at 150 Martin Luther King Drive or call 903-885-1661.
