A group of community-minded businesses and individuals have come together to bring author and speaker, Charles Marohn, to Sulphur Springs.

On Thursday, September 23rd from 6-8pm at The Venue at two nineteen, the public will have a unique opportunity to attend a free event to learn more about transportation opportunities and creating wealth within the community.

Refreshments will be served and those planning to attend are asked to please register through the Event Brite link. Attendance will be limited and is already nearing a “sell-out” event. This event would not be possible without the underwriting efforts of Texas Farm Credit, KSBR, Clarion Point, Lonnie Fox, The Venue at two nineteen and The City of Sulphur Springs.

“Many towns in North America are struggling financially despite decades of “growth.” Those big highway expansion projects, those expensive transportation infrastructure bills, are making your place poorer.

“In this presentation, Charles Marohn, professional engineer and founder of the Strong Towns movement, will show how local leaders of all types can change the negative trajectory in their towns and help them to become more resilient – no matter what challenges lie ahead.

“The solution is to focus on bottom-up strategies for making investments that will actually build wealth, all while improving quality of life for residents of a community.”
