Rachel Tara Gonzales 49, of Yantis, TX unexpectedly left us on Saturday, April 20, 2024 following an aneurysm. She was born September 9, 1974 in Standish, Michigan.

 

Rachel was known for her creativity, writing, telling stories, love of yard sales or any activities with her mom, spending time with her sisters, and ability to make children smile. She loved spending time with her son, Michael Carrasco, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

 

She spent numerous hours talking to her long-distance friends Julia Murdoch and Tom Ten Eyck. The relationships she had with her family and friends were truly the priority of her life. She was also known for her ability to love deeply, model forgiveness, and her radiance in lighting up a room with her infectious smile.

 

Rachel is survived by her parents, Willie and Rhoda Gonzales; son, Michael Carrasco; sisters, Tina (Nathan) Crist, Tammy (Jason) Pennington; nephews and nieces, Matthew Crayton (Jessica), Mark Carrasco (Cinthya), Destiny Caplinger (Ryder), Monica Gonzales; great-nieces and nephews, Mia Crayton, Elijah Crayton, Kyler Moore, Rylie Caplinger, Asiel Carrasco, and Sean Venegas; grandmother, Mildred Kauffman; special family friend, Hayli Stephens; and many aunts and uncles.

 

Rachel was preceded in death by her nephew, Dominic Ayala; grandparents, Delmar and Ruth Kauffman and Guillermo and Dolores Gonzales.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.

 

There will not be a funeral due to cremation.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
