Funeral services for Margie Flanary, 82, of Yantis, TX, will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Caldwell officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 9:30 A.M. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mrs. Flanary passed away peacefully on Monday, January 1, 2024 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX.

Margie was born on January 19, 1941 in Eureka, TX to Eark S. Petty and Obie Lee (Mosley) Petty. She was one of ten children and left school at an early age to go to work to help provide for the family. She married Harold Flanary on November 1, 1958 in Dallas, TX and spent fifty years happily married until his passing in 2008. She was a member of Reilly Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed going to church and playing bingo with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Terry Flanary and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Amanda FitzGerald and husband Tyler, Ally Flanary and partner Brandon Shreves, Annie Roset and husband Jimmy; great grandchildren, Camy Kilmer, Jack FitzGerald and Abby Roset.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Eark and Obie Petty; husband, Harold Flanary; brothers, David Petty, Robert Petty, Roy Petty, Billy Petty; sisters, Ruth McCall, Florence Young, Laura Dill, Joyce Wiese and Lorene Wishon.
