Graveside service for Melinda Kenney, age 85 of Wills Point, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Arbala Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Kenney passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at her home in Wills Point.

 

Melinda was born on January 18, 1938 in Decatur, IL to George Madding and Alice Melinda (Runion) Madding. She married Joe Kenney in Garland, TX on October 9, 1970 and they were blessed with fifty years of marriage before his passing in 2020. After high school, Melinda worked for AT&T providing information for callers. She loved to be out fishing, going to auctions in the area, playing slot machines and spending time with her family.

 

Mrs. Kenney is survived by her children, Lynn Kenney, Mary Jones and husband Chuck, Rita Ray and husband Jerry, Cathy Nix and husband Mark Glasgow, Douglas Haren, Gary Kenney and wife Kim; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alice Madding; daughter, Sharon Mitchell; brothers and sisters, William “Bill” Arthur Clough, Wanda Jean Clough Coble, George “Pete” Edward Madding, Ruby Darlene Madding Mays, Harold Eugene Madding, Robert Allen Madding, Rosemary Madding Mays and David Lee Madding.

 

 

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
