Obituary for Alma Myers

Funeral Service for Alma Ruth Myers, age 92, of Greenville, TX will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Mineral Height Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Pisney officiating and accompanied by Steven Shepler and Laverel Kluttz. Interment will follow at Sherley Cemetery with Ethan Morel, Nathan Morel, Cody Myers, Steven James Palmer, Kenneth Harbin, Jr. and Steven Palmer serving as pallbearers and with Troy Thomas Jr., Hector DeLeon, Troy Thomas, Sr. and Michael McBride as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

 

Alma Ruth was born on May 14, 1931, in Emory Texas to Alma Payne and Lillian Naomi (Sanford) Russell. She married William R.R. Myers who preceded her in death. Alma was a homemaker and a seamstress. She made many dresses for a lot of people. Her devotion to her faith took her on missions for her church, Mineral Heights Baptist Church in Greenville.

 

She is survived by her children, Vaughn Myers and wife Twyla of Greenville and Sharon Rena McBride and Michael Neal, also of Greenville; her grandchildren, Wendy Palmer (Steven), Becky DeLeon (Hector), Rolanda Morel (Nathan), Cody Myers (Carla), Melanie Thomas (Troy), Mistie Brand, Kenneth Harbin Jr. (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Christian Fitzgerald (Cody), Elizabeth Palmer, Steven James Palmer, Erica Palmer, Rebekah Palmer, Rachel Hines (Hayden), Victoria DeLeon, Hector DeLeon Jr., Ethan Morel, Emily Morel, Trevor Morel, Caden Myers, Cason Myers, Troy Thomas, Jr, Kaitlynn Thomas, Summer Conder (Kaden), Megan Green, Gracie Horn, Ashlynn Harbin Reager, Gabriel Harbin, Rachel Harbin; great-great-grandchildren, Quinn Fitzgerald, Ian Fitzgerald, Gwendolyn Fitzgerald, Benjamin Fitzgerald, James Palmer, Carolina Palmer, Dustin Palmer; sisters, Louise Moser, Helen Grace Gaston (Tommy); sisters-in-law, Phyllis Russell, Helen Anne Russell and brother-in-law, Roy Weatherford

 

Alma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Sammy Potts, William Potts, Doris Potts, Phillip Russell, Jerry Russell and Billy Russell; sister, Kathey Weatherford.
