Obituary for Dorothy Hill-Ellington
Graveside service for Dorothy Hill-Ellington, age 84, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas with Bishop Alan Richmond officiating. An open visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mrs. Hill-Ellington passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at her residence.
Dorothy was born on January 21, 1939, in De Kalb, Texas to James Ransom and Ola Mae Callie (Moore) Mays. After high school, she received her Associate’s Degree from East Texas State University. She worked as a real estate agent until her retirement. She was married to James Dave Ellington for 22 happy years until he passed in March of 2023. She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In her free time, she loved to sew, cook, and bake for all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Diana Hager and husband Jaime, Michele Denise Hill Fowler; son, Russel Dean Hill; grandchildren, Kaj Michael Fowler, Kristen Fowler, Daniel Isaiah Longoria, Ashley Michele Wallace; great-grandchildren, Abby Fowler, Stella Fowler, Saxton Fowler, Baylee Longoria, Ava Longoria, Dennis Longoria; sister, Virginia Holcomb.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husbands, Harold Dean Hill and James David Ellington.
