Memorial service for Larry Gene Price, age 74 of Sulphur Spring, Texas will be held at 3:00P.M. on Saturday July 8, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Pastor Derrick Dillion officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Larry passed away on July 3, 2023.

 

Larry was born on September 8, 1948 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital to Clyde Eugene and Velda Ruth (Jenkins) Price. He married Sharon Sue Campbell on January 23, 1976 in Tyler, Texas. Larry worked as a musical instrument repair man at McKay Music Co. since he was 14. He has always loved music, mostly rock and roll and country. Larry collected albums and even had a little record shop on Dabbs St where people would go to browse, buy, sell, or trade all things musical. Larry also had a place on Hwy 19 that he would open on Canton weekends that was “Larry’s Place.” Everyone called it junk that he had in there, but he called it “good stuff.” Larry was a man of the Baptist faith.

 

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Mandi McKinney and Alan Prihoda, Kelli Foster and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Alex Ferrell, Andrew McKinney, Cason Foster, Caitlin Foster, and Nathan Foster; brothers, Michael Price and wife, Debbie, Jimmy Price and wife, Donna, Jerry Price and wife, Sherrilyn; family by heart, Karen Tanton Shultz, Kevin Tanton, Jenny Staples, Audrey and Macy Tanton, Tori and Trevin Staples.

 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Charlie and Eula Jenkins, and Robert and Etta Price.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
