A Memorial Celebration for Shirley Ann Meyers will be held from 2:00 P.M. till 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Tapp Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Shirley passed away on February 9, 2023, at her residence in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Shirley will be laid to rest with her parents Carl and Tillie Meyers at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln Nebraska on March 15, 2023.

Shirley was born on March 26, 1943, in Snyder, Nebraska, to Hiram and Viola Mae Shuey. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Carl and Tillie Meyers.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Rodney Smutzer and his wife, Melissa; Richard Smutzer and his wife, Julie; and Russell Smutzer and his wife, Brenda. Her grandchildren are Andrew Smutzer, Matthew Smutzer, Caleb Smutzer, Zack Smutzer, Kellie Smith, and Aaron Smith. Her surviving siblings are Joyce Turner; Norma Wever and her husband, Bill; Jerry Miller and his wife, Serena; and Ted Schulz and his wife, Diane.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and by siblings Virginia Detorie, Jimmy Shuey, Lavern Shuey, Ronald Valentine, and Alex Shuey.
