A graveside service for Bonnie Crump Swain Rose will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Woodland Cemetery in Como, Texas. She will lie in state from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Tapp Funeral Home. Mrs. Rose passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her residence in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

 

Bonnie was born on January 2, 1933 in Pickton, Texas to parents Eldon and Mary Ruth (Hayden) Crump.

 

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Troy Rose of Sulphur Springs; brother, Kenneth Crump, and wife Zee, of Richardson; grandchildren, Anneka Swain of Tacoma, Washington, Miranda Swain, and husband Matt Keneson, of San Antonio, Texas; and nephews, Donnie Armstrong of Krum, Texas, Jason Crump of Wylie, Texas, and Jeffery Crump, and wife Juliette, of Wylie, Texas.

 

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; son, Dr. Larry Dean Swain, and sister, Joyce Helen Armstrong.

Bonnie earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Sam Houston State University. Bonnie’s career was highlighted as a director in the classification division for Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where she was well respected for her expertise and management skills. Bonnie retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice after 25 years of service.

In retirement Bonnie and husband Troy were active members of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Pickton, where Bonne played piano at church services for many years. Bonnie was also a member of the Woodland Cemetery Association, improving contributions and upkeep of the cemetery grounds. She will be greatly missed by family members and friends.
