Memorial service for Joshua David Hudson, age 43 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Hudson passed away on December 25, 2022.

Joshua was born on September 7, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas to David Hudson Jr. and Judy Nell Keen (Latimer). Josh enjoyed his job at Ocean Spray where he was well-liked and respected by many. He was passionate about nature and the outdoors, the arts, music, science, spirituality, cats and let’s not forget, women. One of his favorite pastimes was walking in nature and photographing trees, flowers and sunsets. He enjoyed the comfort of rainy days and the wildness of thunderstorms, ever seeking a personal connection with the divine in it all. Josh loved gathering for good food, music festivals, and street market shopping, but also enjoyed a quiet hang with friends and the solitude of the mountains. He told beautiful stories of fond memories he had of his time in Oregon that lived forever in his heart. A bit of an outlaw for a good part of his life, Josh worked very hard to better himself over the last few years. He wanted to be a light in the light of others and a catalyst for change. He was loved, and he truly loved everyone.

He leaves behind two children he was so proud of and loved deeply, son, Zachery Seth Hudson and daughter, Marissa Looney; his cherished “babecat”, Jessica Cowling Horton and children Kelsey and AJ Horton with whom he shared love, laughter, family and home; his brother, Ryan Brown and his daughter that hung the moon, Zaylee Mae Brown (ZayCat); his beloved aunt, Kathy Wulf; his loved sweet “sister” Jamie Lewis ; uncle Charlie Keen; cousin, Jeremy Keen; cousin, Tim Elledge; numerous other cousins, aunts, uncles; friends that otherwise knew him as Hudson, H-town, Eastside and Jd and his Ocean Spray work family.

Josh now joins in the comfort of his adored mother, Judy Latimer and stepfather, David Latimer as well as his admired grandparents, Herman and Nell Keen.

Arrangements under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
