Funeral service for Dwayne Fox, age 91, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. David Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery with Eric Fisher, Ryan Fisher, Jarod Fox, Casey Fox, Benjamin Bell, Jacob Bell, Michael Bell, and Matthew Bell serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Mr. Fox passed away at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

 

Herbert Dwayne Fox was born in Hopkins County on January 17, 1933 to C.H. “Bill” and Leola Pearl (Winnett) Fox. He married Nona Ruth Bush in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 16, 1955. They were happily married for over 69 years. Dwayne retired from Kroehler Furniture Mfg Co., Associated Milk Producers (AMPI), & Home Lumber Co. He was also a Farmer & Rancher for many years. Dwayne built roads in Hawaii and Korea during the time he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Freedom Church of God and the Teamsters Union.

 

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Ruth Fox of Sulphur Springs; son, Kenny Wane Fox (Gayling) of Anderson, South Carolina; daughter, Lisa Pearl Bell (Jerry) of Sulphur Springs, Texas; son-in-law, Wendell Fisher of Yantis, Texas; grandchildren, Eric Fisher (Lisa), Amber Morris (Derek), Ryan Fisher (Heather), Jarod Fox (April), Terah Sampler (Jason), Jessica Potter (Jeremy), A.J. Millis, Casey Fox, Jacob Bell, Benjamin Bell (Maria), Michael Bell (Keryn), and Matthew Bell; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Lynda Pettit (Bill); and brother, Joe Fox (Cathy).

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pearlie Fox; daughter, Patricia Fisher; brother, Clovis Fox; and sister, Jeanell Bush.

 

The Fox Family would like to extend a special Thank You to his caregiver, Audra Massey; VA nurse, Robin Josylin; and Choice Hospice, for their love, dedication, and excellent care provided.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
