October – Submissions into the Hopkins County Fall Festival Hay Bale Sculpture Contest will be displayed around town beginning in October. Winners announced at 2pm on October 24th. Sponsored by City National Bank.

October 17th – Fall Festival Parade will begin at 10am starting from Lee St and ending at the railroad tracks by Snap Fitness. Grand Marshal-TBA. Sponsored by East Texas Physical Therapy.

We are asking that spectators wear masks, social distance, attend in groups of 6 or less, and watch from their cars where possible.

October 20th 11:30am: Hopkins-Rains Soil and Water Conservation District Hay Show: There will be a hay show and lunch followed by an auction of the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion hay. Proceeds will go towards a scholarship benefitting students majoring in Agricultural Science.

October 23rd-24th 10am-4 pm: Free Horse Rides featuring FREE horse rides from the Broken Wheel Ranch! Sponsored by Guaranty Bank, Grocery Supply and Oncor.

Masks required for children 10 and over per the Governor’s Executive Order.

October 23rd-24th 10am-4pm: Kids Zone Petting Zoo featuring a FREE petting zoo of farm animals from Sulphur Springs FFA member Jace Mayers. Sponsored by Farm Country Inc.

October 23rd-24th 10am-4pm: Free Barrel Train Rides: featuring a FREE barrel train ride for kids to enjoy. Sponsored by Red River FCU, AK Gillis & Sons, and NorTex Tractors.

October 23rd 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m October 24th 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.: 

Arts & Crafts Show featuring homemade craft items and more in the SSHS Cafeteria. Creative Arts Contest entries will be on display will be on display Friday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. till 1:45 p.m. If you would like to participate contact Johanna Hicks at 903-885-3443. Sponsored by Heritage Hospice.

October 27th–31st – Triple T Amusements Carnival will be set up at Hopkins County Civic Center Wednesday through Saturday! Sponsored by Alliance Bank.
