Alvie Lee Grant was born October 30, 1948, in Saint Paul, MN to Walter D. & Leda L. Grant. Alvie was a man of many careers. He started in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following the USMC, he drove a semi for many years. When he was tired of that, he earned his Master of Science and went on to have a fulfilling career and retired from the IRS. However, he did not stop there; he went on to become a professor at Murray State University. In his free time, he enjoyed connecting with others through his radio operator’s license (HAM). He was a well-loved man whose knowledge never seemed to end.

He was survived by his brother Walter Grant of Jefferson, TX, and his sisters Cheryl Cisneros of Colton, CA, and Mary Brown of Jefferson, TX; his nephews Don Grant, Jr. & wife Chrissy Grant of Yantis, TX, Dan Cuellar & wife Teresa Cuellar of San Bernardino, CA, and Claudio Cuellar of San Bernardino, CA; his nieces Leda Rivas of Mayfield, KY, Tonya Grant of Yantis, TX & Meshell Grant of Jefferson, TX

He had many great nieces and nephews as well as friends who all loved him dearly.
