Obituary for Ruby Chester

Graveside service for Ruby Nell Chester, age 88, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Pine Forest Cemetery. Mrs. Chester passed away at Christus Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

Ruby Nell Chester was born on September 25, 1937, in Pine Forest, Texas, to C. J. and Clara Richey. Ruby was first married to Mr. Garner, with whom their daughter Sheri Don was born. She later married the late Remi Maddux, and in later years was married to the late W. Eldon Chester. A devoted homemaker, Ruby took great pride in creating a warm and loving home for her family. She was a faithful member of the League Street Church of Christ and the Pine Forest Church of Christ, where her quiet faith and kind spirit were reflected in the way she lived her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and dominoes, and found great joy in gardening. She found great joy in caring for those she loved and will be remembered for her gentle heart, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and her faith.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Sheri Don; stepdaughter, Betty Goldsmith; stepson, Alan Chester and wife, Ava of Weaver, Texas; numerous grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends, all of whom will cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward
