Obituary for Gary McRae

Graveside service for Gary McRae, age 74, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Winfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. McRae passed away at Christus Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas, on Monday, July 6, 2026.

 

Gary McRae was born on March 10, 1952, in Pittsburg, Texas, to the late Billy and Helen (Smith) McRae. He married Teresa (Dahn) McRae in Garland, Texas, on July 23, 1982. Gary faithfully served as a pastor in the Church of God, dedicating his life to sharing his faith and ministering to others. He worked at various restaurants, where he was known for his hard work and friendly spirit. In addition, Gary was a devoted member of The Way Bible Church, where he found fellowship and continued to grow in his faith.

 

Gary is survived by his wife, Teresa McRae of Sulphur Springs, Texas; daughters, Tillie Misty Norton of Michigan, Carrie Kolbe of Sulphur Springs, Texas; son, Tim Seargeant of Mineral Wells, Texas; eleven grandchildren including, Sam Kolbe, Brittany Seargeant, Laramie McGee, Trent King, Tristan Seargeant, Sevens Seargeant; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marcie McRae; niece, Katie Simons; great-niece; and aunt, Peggy Nelson.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
