Tee it up for the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce’s 37th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, May 1.

We have just a couple of 8 a.m. tee times remaining before filling out our 44-team field at Sulphur Springs Country Club.

UPRA Spring Rodeo

The Hopkins County Rodeo Association is hosting the 46th UPRA Spring Rodeo on April 17-18 at the Hopkins County Civic Center. For sponsorship opportunities, contact Oscar Aguilar at 903-243-0446 or 30zoscaroa@gmail.com.

Cocktails and Conversation

The next after-hours mixer, Cocktails and Conversation, is set for Thursday, May 7, from 5-6 p.m. at KJ’s Boutique on Main Street.

You don’t have to be a Chamber member to attend the event, which will feature food and drinks. Please join us for this enjoyable event.

Money Matters

A financial literacy course will take place at Morning Chapel Baptist Church on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The topics to be discussed in depth are essential financial skills, investment basics and credit management. Hosting the public service opportunity will be CPI, Alliance Bank, First National Bank of East Texas, Primerica Financial Services, Rising Wealth Management and Galyean Insurance.

Pre-registration is not required and there is no cost.

Claws for a Cause

Rotary Club’s annual spring Claws for a Cause crawfish and shrimp dinner is set for Saturday, April 25, at downtown Sulphur Springs. This is an all-you-can-eat event. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce at 110 Main St. or online at eventbrite.com. VIP sponsorships are available for sale from any Rotary Club member.

Ribbon Cuttings

Southern Roots Boutique and Ganmaw’s Pallet Liquidation will have ribbon cuttings at noon on Friday, April 10, at 1232B Fisher St. Please join us for this event.

The Northeast Texas Choral Society will have a ribbon cutting at 1206 College St. (St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church) at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 13. Everyone is welcome to attend.


Landers Creek will have a ribbon cutting at noon on Tuesday, April 14, at their Main Street location. Please join us.

903 Farm and Feed will have a grand opening beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17. Please welcome them to the community.
