Lendell “Len” Thompson, age 83, of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away at Carriage House Manor on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

 

Lendell Thompson was born on March 29, 1942, in Sulphur Springs Texas, to the late Harry and Dester (Vaden) Thompson. Len worked for many years as a long-haul truck driver with Red Ball Trucking and Yellow Freight Lines before becoming an independent owner and operator. He was a dedicated member of the Teamsters Union and enjoyed drag racing and the excitement it brought him. He attended East Caney Baptist Church as a young man and valued his faith and church community.

 

Lendell is survived by his sisters, Carla Hines of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Janice McLaurin of Wichita, Kansas; nieces, Glenda Hall Garrett of Red Oak, Texas, LaKeisha Hines of Wichita, Kansas, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry James Thompson, Alvin Stokes, and twin brother Odell Thompson; sisters, Connie Anderson, Betty Thompson, and Arie Mae George.
