Funeral service for Toby Boatman, age 63 of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 P.M. on
Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with B.J. Teer officiating and Daryl
Roach assisting. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Will Smartt, Jeff Caldwell, Wendel
Grimes, Monte Gibson, Jerry Riley, and Walt Gamblin serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held
form 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Toby was born on August 3, 1962 in Dallas, Texas to Tolbert Gene and Gwendolyn (Harris) Boatman.
He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School where he was a member of the football team. Toby
married Sandra Clark on September 23, 1983 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He worked at the power
plants. Toby was the owner and operator of Toby Boatman Garage Doors. His hobbies included
hunting and fishing. Toby enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; children, Josh Boatman and wife, Tye, Nathan Boatman and wife,
Shayna, and Ethan Boatman and wife, Victoria; daughter-in-law, Ashten Boatman; grandchildren,
Emma Boatman, Baylor Boatman, Brayden Boatman, Brett Boatman, Aubrey Boatman, Tobin
Boatman, and Ruger Boatman; brother, Todd Boatman; stepmother, Julia Boatman; and a host of
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Toby was preceded in death by son, Jacob Boatman; mother, Gwendolyn Boatman; father, Tolbert
Gene Boatman; grandparents, Elmer Tolbert Boatman, Edna Boatman, Leta York, and Henry York.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
