Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 28, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Schumacher passed away passed away on November 23, 2025, just four days after his birthday at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs.

David was born on November 19, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edwin Alfred Schumacher and Florence Bock Schumacher. His mother passed away when he was young, and his father remarried Edna Earl Schumacher, who lovingly raised David as her own. David built a long and respected career in residential and commercial painting. His exceptional craftsmanship earned him praise from clients and colleagues alike – some even called him the Michelangelo of his trade.

David found joy in the simple pleasures of life: fishing, antiquing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a familiar face at the Arbala Community Center dances and a regular at the Yantis Community Center lunches. Many mornings, he could be found at the Yantis Food Mart, sharing coffee and swapping stories with friends. He had a gift for finding antique treasures, restoring them with care, and then giving them away to friends.

David is survived by his sons Daniel Schumacher of Sidney, Maine, James Schumacher of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Joseph Schumacher of Dallas, Texas; their mother, Rebecca Oliphant of Sulphur Springs, Texas; his sisters Betty Hunt of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Kathy Martin of Cumby, Texas, Mary Schumacher of Wickes, Arkansas, Jana Jones, Robin Mountain, and Sherri Dawson, all of Greenville, Texas, and Joy Perkins of Campbell, Texas; his brother Bill Schumacher of Wickes, Arkansas; and his four grandchildren: Nicholas and Jackson Schumacher of Sidney, Maine, and Logan and Kaylee Schumacher of Sulphur Springs, Texas

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
