Wise Investments

The FED cut interest rates at the end of 2024 and indicate they will do so again in 2025 to try and hold down inflation.  Where do you put your money and investments as some IRA’s and other investments draw around 4.5 percent.  Lower interest rates could help the younger folks out but would keep the older folks from getting higher interest income if investments shrank in value with higher inflation numbers.

That’s the money stuff.  The human side of life is what you invest in is what you get back.  Whether it’s your community or your grandchildren, what you invest in is what you get back.  Stuff has no lasting value.  Time spent with the grands has.  Nothing is sadder than seeing a grandparent sitting alone with no one voluntarily coming to see them.  What you invest in is what you get back.  Children are wise.  They know when you care about them.  You can’t fool them.  You can’t ignore them and expect them to show you any attention when the lonely blues set in. You must take time to invest in them.

Some people spend a good part of their time looking for some too good to be true investment only to find it was too good to be true.  We’re told that a fool and his money are soon parted.  Wise people look at the long haul and invest their lives in family and friends that matter.  Love people.  Use things.  What we invest in is what we get back.

I’ve often said that the hardest thing to change is an older person stuck in their ways with no desire to change.  Scrooge made the transition in the movies.  It doesn’t happen much in real life.  People are afraid to try anything new.  They fear actually losing their identity after living life based on lifetime habits.  Change is scary, especially as we grow older.

Some people keep every penny until the casket goes into the ground, and the executor disperses the will.  Other wiser folks help people when they need it.  That’s where the dividends come in.  By the time most of us croak, our kinfolk will be settled into old age themselves and not really in need of our stuff we’re passing along.

Dividends.  Investments and the Stock Market can drive you crazy.  Bit coins and commodities can crash and burn in a second.  Putting your time and treasure into relationships can have a longer lasting, more valuable result than any stocks and bonds.  Invest wisely.
