Obituary for Donald Thomas “Donnie” Betz
  • PublishedNovember 11, 2025

Donald Thomas “Donnie” Betz, age 66, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on October 29, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1959, at 1:55 p.m. in Norwalk, Connecticut, to Louis and Dorothy Betz.

Donnie spent the first half of his life as a skilled mechanic and later found joy and purpose in carpentry. He owned and operated his own remodeling business, Don’s Repair, where he poured his hard work and creativity into every project.

He was a man who loved to stay busy — if he wasn’t working on a vehicle or a home project, you could find him watching a TV show about someone else doing just that. Donnie was passionate, full of life, and never afraid to let you know how he felt — whether through a laugh, a shout, or a good cussing!

Donnie was a Christian and last attended New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church. His faith remained a quiet but steady part of who he was.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Neville Stiltner and Lavanna Stiltner; his brothers, Richard “Rick” Betz, Rodney, Duncan and George; and his grandchildren, Aden, Alex, Rosie, Ava, and Sophia Stiltner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dorothy Betz, and his sister, Dawn.

A memorial service to celebrate Donnie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
