Obituary for Eddie Wayne Wood Sr.
Memorial service for Eddie Wayne Wood Sr., age 66 of Cooper, Texas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Eddie Wood Jr., Steven Wood, Stanley Wood, Justin Wood, Jonathan Wood, Jaccob Wood, and Cory Wright will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mr. Wood passed away on September 29, 2025.
Eddie was born on August 17, 1959 in Paris, Texas to Thurman and Ethel Irene (Roach) Wood. He grew up in Sulphur Springs, Tx. Resided in Cooper, Tx. He married Lawanda Loper. Eddie attended Crimson River Cowboy Church in Cooper, Tx.
He is survived by his wife, Lawanda; children, Eddie Wood Jr. and wife, Teresa, Steven Wood and wife, LeAnn, Stanley Wood, Justin Wood and wife, Ashley, Johnathan Wood, Jaccob Wood, Ashly Wright, and Cory Wright; twenty-nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Jo Newman, Thurman Cleeny, Barbara Campbell, and Terry Agular.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Wayne Newby; siblings, Peggy Briscoe, Joy Wear, Wanda Bonnette, and Cleopas Wood.
